SES Creative Products

Well it's been a while since we wrote our last article for the blog.  The new website - well not so new now - 6 months old - is doing very well.  Thank you to all our new customers for their support.

We've introduced a new range of SES Creative products and have been using our little 3 1/2 year old as a tester.

His favourite is the I Learn to Use Scissors set

It allows him safely to practice his cutting skills with a child safe pair of scissors that don't cut hair or fabric.

The colourful sheets of paper are graded in levels of difficulty.  Obviously our little one started with the most difficult - the spiral pattern on the snail's shell.  Your child could begin with the easiest - the straight lines on the sheet with blocks of rainbow colours.

Would I have spent £5.95 on the set if i didn't sell it?  Having seen it and used it - Yes.  You could draw a line on a piece of coloured paper and encourage your child to cut along the line.  That does work, and why not do that as well?

This set gives your child something to focus on - colourful patterns and shapes, recognisable images.  It has actually encouraged our little one to pick up a pair of scissors and learn to use them safely.  He can't wait to try the shapes on the next sheet.

paper_folding_aeroplane_set_ses_john_crane.jpg Paper Folding Aeroplanes.  The recommended age for these is 6 upwards, and I would say most definitely is correct if you want your child to be able to make them him/herself.  There are straight lines to fold and shapes to cut out, which little ones might find more difficult.

However, our little 3 year old has a set.  We cut out the shapes for him - he had this set before his cutting set.  Now he can do it himself.  Then we helped with folding the lines and shaping the planes.  The set also comes with stickers for the wings and tail planes.

And now the fun starts - send the planes off flying.  Why not have a race with friends?

This would keep a group of children entertained for a while, so why not try it when your children's friends come round to play?  Or how about using it for a craft activity at a birthday party?  Each set comes with 16 planes so plenty to share.

Our little one also loves his Colourful Plastic Table Play Cloth.  It keeps our table clean from paint and has uncoloured pictures he can colour in while he's painting.  They then wipe clean ready for the next time.  We've also tried out the paint pallet and brushset.  The paints are really good quality and give lovely deep colours on the paper, and the brushes keep their shape - even when flattened by the heavy hand of a toddler.  An older child would get some great results.

Worried about your child eating wheat based Play Dough.  Our SES Creative Soft Dough is gluten free and unperfumed, safe for your child if he/she puts it in their mouth.

We can't wait to try out our brand new Magnet Shapes Board set.  I think we might have to wait for a birthday.  Can you imagine what it is like for a 3 year old living near a toy shop?
